The problem of rescuing
helicopters is very urgent and topical. Statistics shows that rescue of
helicopter passengers and crew, in case of emergency, at a height of several
dozens of meters is practically impossible.
We have worked out and patented several modes of rescue of helicopter,
its passengers and crew in emergency situation. They are based on using
of a parachute-braking system. Let us view one of these modes.
Blades of helicopter propeller form the main obstacle in using a parachute
when rescuing helicopter. This obstacle can be overcome in the following
In the fuselage, at base stand of external part of drive shaft in main
propeller are placed elongated hollow charges, which cause instantaneous,
in fractions of a second, separation of the propeller from the fuselage.
The parachute system is set in the upper part of the fuselage.
In case of emergency situation, at pilot's or airborne computer command
is engaged an optimal helicopter rescue program corresponding to the given
specific emergency conditions. The common operations for all rescue programs
will be: separation of propeller with blades, directly following compulsory
parachute ejection, engaging of self-braking mode at helicopter landing
